About Jacquard
Jacquard is a way of weaving rather than a fibre. A jacquard loom controls the warp threads individually, so a pattern, whether a damask, a geometric figure or a floral motif, is built into the structure of the cloth instead of being printed on it.
Because the design is woven, it usually shows on the reverse as well, often in reversed colours, and parts of the pattern can differ in texture and sheen. Jacquards range from flat, crisp weaves to raised, relief-like surfaces.
